Molecule lover, the EX, shadowing, Victro, $1 breakfast, “Siu fay yeung”, Brampton, Paintball…that pretty much sums up my past week.
On Monday I hung out pretty much all day with my good friend the “Molecule lover”…She and I go way back. I remember when we were young, I would share “Peak Freans” cookies with her and we hung out after Sunday School/Junior Church. Even though I barely see her now cuz she goes to Yale and doesn’t come home much, it’s such a pleasure when we do meet up. She’s so down to Earth and honest and sweet:) I feel like I can always pick up where we left off with her, and we can talk for hours.

I went to the EX with Gord, his dad and cousin on Tuesday. I really enjoyed the “Superdogs” show, with dog racing. It was strangely entertaining. I also tried a “Beaver tail” for the very first time! And yeah, they are very yummy…

Wednesday I shadowed my friend all day at Lyndhurst Rehab center where she works as an OT in the Spinal Cord Rehabilitation program. It was really interesting to see what she does, and it made me want to do OT so much more. Unfortunately, it does require some physics and it has never been my forte to work with numbers. But I trust that if God wants me there, He’ll put me there.
I hung out with another good friend on Thursday. We had lunch and talked as we waited a long time to drop off food for Gordon. Although he and I also rarely see each other, we have kept in touch since first year and it’s also a pleasure when we hang out. Thursday night I had girls’ cell with Swirlee & U-phe and it was good times:)
Gord and I ate $1 breakfasts at Ikea on Friday. Afterwards we strolled into his workplace and I was supposed to work on my work-term report, but I didn’t get much done. (Instead I did a bit of reading for my Epidemiology course in September). I went to “Mongolian Hotpot” (Siu fay yeung) for lunch and contracted a headache from the strong MSG there. I don’t think I’ll go again, though it was very very yummy. I spent the night with a hotpack on my head trying to fight the pain.

So Saturday came and my parents wanted to do something…they wanted to get away for a bit and see something new. Originally we planned to go to Balsam Lake, but that was too long a drive for my dad who’s been sick for a while now. Instead we went to Brampton for a couple of hours and walked around the farmer’s market. It was pretty unexciting. I spent the rest of the day watch episodes of “Heroes”.
After church on Sunday, I went paintballing with Gord’s Teens’ Worship kids and others. I was the only female there, and I got shot in the face. (I’m sure it’s not BECAUSE I’m a girl that they shot me…I hope) Yeah, so somehow, I was shot at such an angle that when the ball exploded, the bits went through the mask and scratched up my face. Needless to say it was painful at first…I was also mighty angry. In addition to the ugly looking scratches, I have two nice bruises (one on each thigh) and one on my left side. It was “fun” explaining to my mom about the situation. Har har.

How’s that for compressing a lot of fun into a few days?
